so Im on the hunt for a new head to use as part of my main gigging rig. Right now Im running a Port City Pearl on the OS 2x12 cab, and using pedals for all of my overdrive and lead stuff. Its a great amp but I play alot of Blues/Rock gigs and Im about to go on the road for my first time with a singer songwriter who is kindof in the John Mayer/Kings of Leon/Coldplay sort of vain. So Im after a higher wattage, multi channel head thats got great cleans with plenty of head room, but also has a great dirty side. I've been playing a few options and I really like the Mesa Dual Rec. Its a solid versatile amp, which is what Im after. However the Two Rock Custom Reverb Signature V3 has caught my eye, My question is should I consider the Two Rock over the Mesa? Are they even comparable? And where could I find the best price on the Two Rock? (I live in Atlanta)
Thanks!!

Wow comparing 1 rock and a dual rec mesa feels like comparing apples to potatoes.

That's like comparing a Hummer H1 to a Jaguar...

The Mesa isn't gonna cut the mustard for the John Mayer/Kings of Leon/Coldplay type music. The Two Rock will handle the John Mayer/Coldplay music easily and with a British-flavored OD pedal will handle Kings of Leon.

I do believe that Two Rock's prices are set by the manufacturer? Someone want to chime in on that?

For something in the middle of your styles, check out Red Plate Amps at Destroy All Guitars.

Yeah I know they aren't in the same class. I just wanted to show what I was looking at. I've played the two rock before, Johnson ferry baptist church has one for their contemporary worship services. And every guitar I've put through it sounds AMAZING to my ear.

Have you considered the PRS Two Channel "H" amp or the PRS Two Channel "C" amp? $1499.00 for the "H" head and $1799.0 for the "C" head. Great clips of both amps on the PRS web site and You Tube with Nicky Moroch and others. BOTH amps are very versatile.

:)
