Man, there is a lot of them out there.

I have a TS9 modded to TS808 specs by analog man.

Also have a modded DS-1 (one cap changed to lower the bass/mud - what a difference!)

Looking for pedals that will sound different than these two. Youtube clips are OK, but don't tell the whole story.

I'm going for a lead guitar sound from the 70's and 80's - more smooth that rough. Not doing metal.

    Ideas?

Fuzz! Put a subtle delay behind it too. Both the Big Muff and Fuzz Face circuit types would be authentic to the time period too. I would not say fuzz is usually plug-and-play, but it is beautiful once you get the hang of how to get good tone from it.

It won't be the same kind of OD that you currently have - but will be smooth, thick and vintage vibed.
Max out the gain, and it goes into fuzz-like sustain.

I have the regular edition, and the CSP re-issue.
The basic edition is louder and crisper, the vintage re-issue is lower output and warmer.

I am really digging the JHS superbolt for my vintage lead sounds.

I'm digging the Mxr distortion+ too. I like the csp/script logo as it seems warmer but having the 9v adapter and light on the new one is a plus too
