I'm running a Crunch Box right now and to me there just isnt enough low end. I want something decently heavy(not metal), with a really tight punchy low end. I would prefer something thats not so fuzzy on the highs too. Anyone know of anything like that.

You may want to look into an EQ pedal. An EQ coupled with an overdrive can deliver a HUGE range of sounds, including the sort of heavy but still punchy thing you're after.

Holowon Short Fuse OD. Don't know much about it. I've never played the production models, and I think they're hard to come by but it has a ton of bottom end and can be nice and tight on the high end. I think the production runs are switchable between Si and Ge transistors so you can get a wider range of sounds, its kinda like a fuzz/od hybrid that ends up sounding more like a roaring Marshall. Unfortunately my Blues Jr. can't handle the low end. I need to find another amp to try it with.

Would a Tubezone Deluxe work for this sort of sound?

If you like the CB but just want some more low end, I'd get an MDEQ - it's perfect for fine tuning dirt boxes...

I have a Blues Boy Deluxe but its not really the same sound. I think I'm looking for more of a true distortion than an overdrive.

I need to take it someplace and see how it works with a good 4x12 cab. I think I'm going to make it to the Austin meetup though so at least then we can really find out what it can do with some of Skipstar's amps. :AOK
