Tight? If by that you mean clean and loud, Hiwatt is a good spot to start. If you mean something else, then by all means let it be known.

"Organic" is another description I don't really understand. I get a visual of healthful lettuce growing out the back panel.

This is kind of cheating, but if you want tight you want as much solid state as possible. My Legend is very tight due to the transistor power amp stages, but there are other hybrids out there that might fit the bill. If you want all tube and you mean tight lows, go with a solid state rectifier and 6550 output tubes and high levels of filtering.

Oh, also add into the recipe oversized transformers. I'd look for a bass amp.

Sound City L120 Mk4----- 120 watts, six EL34's, huge Partridge trannies, massive filtering, and the infamous Mk4 active preamp.
These are the tightest tube amps i've ever experienced, by far------ Hiwatts are round and rich compared to these SC 120's.
I've converted several Sound City 120's to Hiwatt preamps so i'm not just shooting in the dark here.
The 135 watt UL Fenders are pretty tight, too...................gldtp99
