Got my eye's on a few Jr's 57 and a 56 both nice guitars however, ones kinda beat lots of checking and paint chips scratches etc. The 57 is cleaner and has the bridge back a bit more not all beat up .. Both guitars are missing original cases but are 100% original guitars the 57 is $5500 and the 56 is $4500 .. Should I just wait it out and grab one latter or should I consider one of these? :huh

Yeah thats one small issue however, Condition is a concern but, the most important thing is bridge placement what's the consensus on early bridge placement opposed to the later placement .. Also both guitars have no bridge lean ..

Guitar Center has a TON of 50's Juniors right now around those prices and below. I know "GC = Satan" but you'd at least get a return policy and have some selection.

If they are both structurally sound and the bridges aren't chewed up, nut is good, tuners are good..Id go for the cheaper one. Use the money for a good refret.

Ordering from guitar center can suck, but at least you get a return policy minus shipping.

'57 is generally thought of as "the" year for Juniors, but frankly ever vintage Junior I have ever played has been awesome regardless of year. If it intonates properly and the action is good, then you are golden. I don't see condition as being a big issue, but others may differ. it can affect price though. But if you want to save some money, do what I did. I have a VOS 57 Junior, and it is and always will be my #1 guitar. Used ones go for $1300ish -$1700ish

Yeah thats great, I only want a real deal Jr. Not to say that a good Gibson VOS reissue is not a great guitar but I only want a vintage one… Thank for your input.

Or you could buy my Monty Jr in TV yellow and have a better guitar for less money and a proper case. ;)

I tried a junior at GC in the twin cities that was not so great. I'd try as many guitars as possible and go for the one that feels and sounds best
