It should be noted that in the description on the YouTube demo video it says...

"This will be the first release in a new line of pedals called Automatone™ that feature robotic controls, more details soon."

So that's what "Stale" looks like.

    Who knew...

    :)

It does look expensive. I'm sort of afraid to know the price.

Remember back in the day when we thought the 5 buttons were preset switches? To be young

Looks good but the price will scare away a lot of people. This one is for the high rollers IMO.

    Hard pass

I’ve seen enough $100,000 consoles with faders that are broken/glitchy. Imagine the abuse these will take around your feet.

    Pointless and unnecessary IMO.

I suspect it's more aimed at the synth and electronica market, and meant more for desktops, evidenced by the form factor and the wooden cheeks.

Sort of like Mooger Foogers. You *can* put them on a pedalboard, but most won't, but that's just a guess.

    Oh nice!!!

EQ with selectable parametric mids control that can be routed pre or post gain (or off!). Selectable clipping diodes and fuzz settings. Presets!! Midi control!!! Dayum.

    9v at 500mA though.

Only thing I’d be worried about is durability on a pedalboard at rock n roll shows.... but it’s so nice!!!!

I see this as an incredible studio tool...including live recordings. Will reserve judgement regarding durablity until they release an indepth demo.

Definitely seems like something to keep on a desk and not lug around to shows and stomp on

Dang. The Benson Preamp has been my front of the chain pedal since I bought it. This looks to be the Preamp exploded into about a dozen or so other dimensions, including bizarro preampland.

If that expression control can mutate numerous parameters at once and keep the output level where you want it as those values change, then that device will probably become one seriously creative and expressive tool in the hands of virtuoso soloists.
