That's too bad but the new lineup will be interesting to hear as well. I was looking forward to hearing some new Sykes material.

Hmmmm - Get Sykes to write a bunch of tunes. Then switch players. Hopefully, Johnny retains a piece of the action.

Bummer. I saw them on "The Metal Show" and was looking forward to hearing some Sykes.

Bummed, but Kotzen being the replacement makes up for it.

Agree, and who is singing? Was John supposed to sing?

Im still interested in what actually happens "musically" with this trio, i think the Kotzen mix will make for some interesting concepts and possiblities with the band, we shall see

I still want to see sykes do some REAL guitar work and recording, jamming, etc soon!

What does "clash of work ethic" even mean? Is this Portnoy's way of saying John was lazy?

John realized the portnoy gig would turn into a sausage fest and lost interest.

Looks like Sykes is turning in to the Craig Kilborn of the rock scene.

Sometimes the puzzle pieces just don't fit. I don't fault anyone. If John likes to "get to it when he gets to it" it probably wouldn't have worked for long anyways if you're going to join two guys like Sheehan and Mike.

Summary: two professionals have seen yet another Portnoy psychodrama brewing and sensibly bailed before the emo started.
