Over the last few week I've been back to my old practice of making short rhythm loops and soloing over them.

I'm looping with a line6 DL-4, using my Grosh baritone and a Breedlove, Passport mini acoustic (both running into a bjf PGC). The loops ar going into an Acoustic Image, Clarus. The treble is rolled back intentionally to free up some bandwidth on the camera's mic to allow the lead guitar to sing freely. I'm using my ussual rig for the leads:

guitar (Lentz or GVCG) -> COt50red -> Valveboy -> t.c. dual para eq -> Maxon AD900 delay. -> Princeton, reverb

    Thanks a bunch John.

I'm loving the song "High-Water" from your site. It's like Nevilles meets Steely Dan, but goes it's own way in the process. Great song, production, playing, and tones. You've got the total package there. Is this one on a CD?

    Hey John,
    Great as always......thanks.

Do you have any vids where you kind of walk through your base tone, showing what each pedal does? I'm kind of curious how you're using the Valveboy, TC EQ and COT.......basically, what's on all the time, and what you use for the various grit levels......
    Cheers!

    - Jim

fatback, I notice your Tele has a reversed control panel, it looks like it would stop me from hitting the darn pick up switch so often not to mention bring the knobs closer to my reach. Care to share anything of it? Do I just have someone reverse my current one as it is, or are the pots reversed to give the same feel? Thanks for any help & you know how I dif your clips, man!

By the way, where might I find the PGC & MGMV vid you posted?

Here's an old one that might help. The t.c. eq is mainly for imitating the pumped up mids of a cranked power-section. I keep my Princeton between 2 and 2.5 in my apartment so the eq boost comes in very handy. When I get the amp up over 3, I turn off the eq.

    cheers.:)

John, That's a pre-lawyers Lentz S. Scott winds his own pickups specifically to the weight of each guitar.

    :)

    Cheers Rid.

fat, man. you're inspiring a whole crop of my students. I've got a few of them checking you out regularly. They can only watch me for so long before stuff stops sticking and they need fresh (and better) ideas. You are a smokin' player and a fellow Lentz player to boot. I get ideas from your posts along with my students and get a lot out of teaching them what you play. I hope you don't mind being that kind of inspiration for other players. That EQ mid boost is a really great idea. I'm always pushing against a volume ceiling to get better tone. I never thought of using the EQ to solve that kind of problem. What city are you in?
