If you figure- for the way Love sounded- NOTHING sounded like the Cult at the time. Except for Danzig's first record a year later. Both were produced by Rick Rubin... Hmmm...

Listening to Love, Electric and Sonic Temple recently. Got into them with 'Electric', then Sonic, then Love. Electric is still my fave; dry cranked Marshalls, zero effects. Sonic Temple is more like Cult meets Gn'R; bigger, flashier, more-'produced' sound, but still a classic album.

Agreed on 'Sun King'- "this is where it all ends..." is the right time to bump up the volume in your car and hit the gas.

Love, Electric, Sonic Temple, and Ceremony were great albums. Anyone have the "Rare Cult" box set and listen to the unreleased "Peace" album? "Peace" was what they were going to release before Rick Rubin came in. He made them change the sound, write some more songs and "Peace" became "Electric". If you've never heard it, imagine The Cult going full blown hair metal, but not being very good at it. Thank you, Rick Rubin!
