Has anyone had any experience with both of these?
Which one do you prefer??
The end result will be the same - except you'll have alot more clipping options if you use the new BYOC Mighty Mouse kit with the rotary switch.
FWIW - the MojoDrive is built on a BYOC "overdrive" circuit board.
I built a BYOC Rat/Mo'D but preferred the sound of the Chupa. The Chupa is becoming my "go to" pedal for live playing - it cleans up so well from the guitar volume and is quite dynamic. Currently using a Lovepedal Eternity for "soft" OD and the Chupacabra for "hard" OD tones.
I LOVE the Chupacabra...
I have never built a pedal, but I'm guessing that some of how good it sounds depends on the abilities of the builder??? If I'm way off base, let me know!
Oh and I think my Chupacabra arrives tomorrow.
Mine arrived today
Are you guys ordering these from Ethan or ebay or what? I rarely see them come up on ebay or here.
I think you can order off of his website now.
I emailed him directly at:
He can send you pics of the swirl boxes he has available (unless you want the stealth version) for you to choose.
I emailed him directly also.
There was a Chupa on ebay that went for 114 plus shipping today. About 123 overall..but as close as that was.. I preferred just buying one straight from the builder for the extra 15 to 20 bucks.
Oh and I paid on Sunday morning and it shipped Tuesday I believe. I bought a stealth version...
The Lovekraft stuff simply can't be beaten for the money.
IMO, of course.
+1! Great stuff.
Definitely. The MojoDrive covers everything I do in a classic/southern rock, blues, and country band. That's a lot of territory for one pedal. But with one Mojo and a Bad Monkey I can do it all. Eventually, two Mojos or a Mojo/Chupa set up will only mean fewer trips to my board to make changes during the sets.
