Sean's short'n sweet manual actually warns you to go easy on those dials when firing up this pedal and he means it. In these days of the low gain ODs and subtle boosters that are all the rage, this pedal kicks some serious @ss!

Just got it this morning and I'm letting the old vibrolux cool down for a minute to post this question about the extra chip I found in the box. No markings of any kind on it, but the other guitarist in my band has offered to pop out the the one that's in there now and replace it with the spare at rehearsal tonight.

What's the difference between these two chips? Can anyone tell me what kind of change in gain/tone I can expect by changing it?

Anyway, this is one fire-breathin box that actually cleans up real nice when you roll back the tone and gain pots.

I'll post again after I've had a chance to turn up the amp tonight & try the other chip as well.

I believe the spare is general the 'FAT' chip.

But truthfuly ,I beleive he changes it up to his taste.

Maybe he'll chime in & clear it up.

Really surprising how much the pedal's nature completely changes when you pop the other chip in there.

I wouldn't have believed what swapping a little op-amp could do to a tone circuit if I hadn't heard it tonight. So much smoother & clearer sounding, it's not one of those subtle things like changing battery brands. Very, very cool.

    Nice one, Sean..

Drolling, welcome to the Eternity Club.

I think the unmarked one is the "FAT" chip, which I prefer. My second one is a TL072ACN, the "HOT" chip. I'm not that familiar with OP amps, but this one has a lot more volume and a little more treble. Yes, swapping them makes a huge difference.

I'd have to say the Eternity is my overall favorite pedal.

    Enjoy!

If i was in a blues band i would beg borrow and steal to get an Eternity back. One of the smoothest, natural overdrives out there.

Thats a Hiwatt? The quick cam to the side of his head looks like a Wizard.

I heard the last head the Wizard guy built a couple weeks ago. Its the loudest amp ever made I think. The guy is ACDCs tech

The head alone was 4 grand!!

The dude that bought the head said the Wizard guy built a 400 watt head for Angus the would power 16 4x12 cabs
