This is a simple vid, (the audio anyways,) where I'm strumming a few chords and switching in order bewteen a COT50 red, Balance, Purple Plexi, and LO pedals. Again I'm still getting to know iMovie, so the subtle visuals are back again. :p

[IMG]I hope this helps answer some folk's questions about comparing different Lovepedals.

    cheers.

actually after hearing all of it, they dont sound that different except for the balance, the COT is fatter than the purple plexi and the LO has got more bass response than the COT, but almost exactly the same sounds?

    Gotta love those pedals :)

Although these pedals all belong to the same family, they don't sound the same to me. Then again I'm biased, having felt and heard them in person. ;)

I would say that the PP can get thicker than the Cot50, while the LO has a grit and deep feel all it's own.

    cheers.

Yes, I forgot to add that it might be the fact that I listened to those pedals through video, might sound different in real life.

I also got a LO of my own, love it! although sean told it's a 2 knob magneto/2 knob woody, I still think I got a LO driver.

    Sorry sean :D

    Another nice clip, fatback.

Through headphones, I could hear obvious differences between the pedals, but less obvious through my old Bose 101 monitors.

Either way, I liked the Purple Plexi and the LO best.

No worries, you'll get yours soon I'm sure. I'd been bugging Sean about the LO since he told me how excited he was about the prototype three months ago.

(good thing you hadn't ordered a KOT or a Zendrive. ;))

They all sound real nice. I personally liked the COT50. That Jazzmaster doesn`t sound too shabby either.

jero - the pedals were running direct into a mid 60's Princeton reverb.

Sid - I've been told to keep carbination out of my diet, until my cracked molar and root canal can be dealt with. Besides not owning a Carb, I generally try to avoid direct "shootouts" between different manufactures. That's just my own thing, but their are other folks, (ie. the-horned-one ;) ) making demos that would probably be glad to help you with the above.

    cheers Y'all.

i'm guessing that the reason the 4 ped's sound so similar is because you purposely dialed in the same sound on all 4. that being said, the clear winner for my tastes is the cot, HANDS DOWN!!! it's DAMN hard to beat, isn't it?

Great job as usual John, I especially appreciate how you play open string chords and let them ring, which IMO is a great way to really hear what a pedal sounds like - as opposed to a lot of lead licks which can be distracting, especially when the player is very talented!

One of the identifying characteristics of Sean's pedals is the rich harmonic content and sparkle which makes them killer rhythm pedals - your demo highlights this characteristic very well.

Great clips! love the color changes! I thought they all sounded pretty much in the same ballpark but with some differences for sure. I liked the COT the best, myself. Thanks! ;)
