I listened to the Savage 15 watt amp and it perked my interest in looking into other low watt amps. I like the sound of the 2 el84 tubes but I am not limiting my search.

What other amps should I look into?

Star Amps and Bad Cat are certainly great options, as is the Mesa Lonestar.

Now, if you really want to go another way in the boutique route, there's the Budda Twinmaster (my all-time favorite amp)-no channel switching, no reverb, just three knobs, and mind-blowing tone. Every guitar I plug into it sounds fat, punchy, clear, and the overdrive that comes comes this is gorgeous. Budda is making a tenth anniversary model, and it is expensive but worth it-it's a lifetime amp!

the best 3 el84 amp i have played to date (not that it was even close to all of them) was the bad cat cub II head i used to have. i only sold it because i ordered a hot cat 30r but i would love to get a cub II again someday. not high gain but it is amazing. if you want higher gain than that. the hot cat 15 would be the way to go. either way these are amazing.

Yep tons of threads on 18W and Low Watt (I consider under 10W low and 18W is a category all by itself)
    My favorites.
    Sommatone Roaring 20s
    Maven Peal Zeeta 1-20
    both EL84 based.

Cornford Hurricane - killer low watt master volume bedroom practice amp. 2 - EL84's and nice reverb.

Divided by 13 SJT 10/20 - best non-master low watter ever made in my estimation. Dual 6V6, reverb and harmonics out the yenyang!

    just my .02

Winfield Thomas "Winfield". Comes in 2x84 for 18 watts or 4x84 for 30 watts with a half power switch. Great plexi style classic rock type amp. You can also get it with 6V6s for more of a Fender vibe. And for a HW boutique amp, it's VERY affordable.

Zinky Blue Velvet.... the best bedroom amp I've played. I've played it in a band setting as well but really shines at low volume IMO.

    Trace Elliot Velocette 12R - 1 X 12 combo

15 watts, with a switch to cut the wattage in half to overdrive the amp easier.

Or a Gibson Goldtone 15R, which is essentially the same amp.

one thing about low watt amps, they dont seem to have that background of big low end presence that i hear in higher wattage amps of the same ilk. even tho i'll dial back the tone knobs or crank the bass knob on a small watt amp, it'll only make the overall sound darker and muddier, yet not necessarily give me that big warm background of low end.

but my Clark Lil Bit LTD does!

its quite amazing that despite its 5 watt output, even at its low volumes, by using the interactive brite and normal volume controls, i can dial in that background of depth, yet the overall sound is open, airy, and very BIG sounding even at low volumes!

Just bought a Top Hat Club Royale two weeks ago and I'm REALLY digging it! Lots of other good suggestions here, but definitely check out the CR before you make your final decision.

    + 1 on the Harlequin!

Check out the new Cornford Carrera as well. I have yet to hear sound clips but the reviews have been excellent.

Then there's also the Orange AD5 or AD15.
