    Hey guys,

So I've started breaking strings rather quickly on my '58 reissue LP. I've found that I'm actually sawing through the string where it makes contact at the bridge (the actual point of contact is starting to become jagged through wear I guess - its essentially become a chainsaw).

My question is, is this a common Les Paul issue which can be solved with a simple bridge swap? Do I also need to get a new tail piece as well?

This is the first time I've ever had to do something like this, so any tips/pointers/warnings would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

Are the bridge inserts file to fit the string size or just a V notch?

round out the notches with the correct nut files, then smooth out with like 1000 grit sandpaper folded into a crease.
