Anyone know what the radius is traditionally on an LP? I've got an Edwards elp 130, I love the neck and am wondering what the radius is. thanks!

I believe Les Pauls have a 12" radius.

I thought they were 12" for years, as many sources ID'ed them as such, but if you measure them they're about 10".
I'm not sure what the new ones are.

Yes, 12". Past and present. Although like any hand made product, there are surely variances.

I am pretty sure they are 10 inches.

Now, ask about scale length....there you'll get some dissent.

Every Gibson LP I've ever had was 12" radius.

As far as I know LP's are a little shy of 12" .... about 11"-11.5"

    ;)

All my 50's Gibsons are approx 10".
Dan Erlewine, among others, says that they are 10".

    Larry,
Yeah that fooled me for years too. Those same spec sheets also say that the scale is 24 3/4" , when it is less.
It is a small difference between 10" and 12" radius, but something that most fingers will notice. Discerning players will definitely notice.

I always heard 12" but when I measured my Les Paul and CS-336 with a radius gauge they were both 10".

Yep 10 inch radius and 24.6 inch scale, the 'Official' specs are incorrect.

Well, I guess you can't believe everything you read.:nono

I will say they have always felt different than my PRSi 10" radius. Maybe the PRS are actually 8";) J/K.

Very interesting. I'll have to have a few of mine measured since I don't own any radius gauges and now I'm curious.

BTW, thanks for the check, did you get the cup lid?

Yes, 10 inches doesn't mean exactly 10, I've heard they are around 10 to 11 inches and can vary a bit.

All part of the Gibson mystique - isn't it fun! :)
