I just got this pedal last week. As you may know this is a variation of a tube screamer, but quite small. I prefer a portable pedalboard, so size counts.
First off the mid emphasis and compression on this one seem to be in the right place. I plugged it into to my Cage 18/00 at moderate volume, set for a bit of boost and about mid way on the drive. Instant Feedback and sustain. Reminded me of a Komet Constellation.
I used it at a gig with my JRT 9/15. Worked great as a lead boost to put the guitar out front w/o adding a lot of volume. The overdrive on this is also more "open" sounding than other screamers. Also stacked well with other pedals- Barber Gain Changer, and Trombetta Bone Machine
