I haven't posted any pics for a while... I got totally bent at Photobucket's kidnapping my photos, years worth...
Anyway! This one just went to it's new home today. It's body core is Padauk, layered Maple, Wenge, capped on both sides with Quilted Maple (consecutive cuts, same board), stained blue.
Neck is Padauk, Maple, Wenge, Curly Maple. Fretboard Gabon Ebony, 24 medium frets, MOP inlay. Brass nut, Gotoh Delta locking tuners.
Kluson bridge, Io custom brass tailpiece and pup surround.
Full Garcia electronics package, including 2 preamps. (see the Control picture)

About 1 neck in 10 still winds up as firewood. A customer had selected a very nice piece of Goncalo Alves and I managed to drill most of the tuner holes in the wrong place.
This is the replacement. It's pretty cool, also.

Almost done. This is my first time out with SS frets. Polished them up to a mirror shine but am still getting some raspiness on bends and vibrato. So this one will need a bit more TLC before it's ready.

Finally got the neck wood from my buddy from the NH barn. Lightly flamed and perfectly quartersawn with tight grain.
    Hidden fret ends.

Also, some cool carving on the back of the headstock in progress.

If I was an Alembic employee, I'd drop everything I was doing right now and quit. :D This is beyond words amazing.

I thought I'd share this one ;) usually, I don't build this kind of guitar, but my friend, vintage guitar addict and collector Matthieu Lucas asked me to cooperate on a special project, which will be unveiled soon. This one is part of it, and I have to admit, V's are fun guitars to build :) :

I think Brian wins this page - amazing guitars lately! All are awesome. Haven't posted in a while, ramping up production of the solid figured Carbon Fiber for machining into faces, bridges, bobbin PUP covers, etc. Here's a nut in the CF on my Quilted CF guitar on the bench right now. Full fretboards next week.

And now for acoustic bridges. Making fretboards in MicroQuilt Friday. Gotta make as many items as possible in the solid Figured CF before NAMM (booth 1247).

2.5 years later, my 1st actual bench shot. The SS frets are now happily smooth, and everything’s set up and intonated. I’ll post demos shortly (elsewhere).

^^^ That’s lovely, colors are fantastic. Is that your baked maple board?
