    Whoa, that snuck up on me.

    There was a time when my side hustle was FM DJ (remember when FM was the conduit?). Mr Mays was a featured artist in my rotations, when I had to fight with the Program Director for my selections. His palette was wide, nuanced, and honest. Technically masterful but also honest and humble.

    This is a tough one.

    RIP, sir. Sail on.

    This hurts. Saw Lyle many times with PMG and once with Joni. I just got done telling friends of mine that I want "Close To Home" played at my funeral. RIP Lyle.

    Yeah this is really sad I also was lucky enough to see him with the early PMG he was a beautiful player.

    I just heard about this! Ouch. What a great player. Saw him with Metheny a number of times starting in the early 80's in college. Amazing talent.
