Ambiguity is great. Steely Dan has some of my favorite lyrics precisely because they are at times very murky, and that allows me as the listener to insert my own meanings. Hendrix too, some of his songs ("One Rainy Wish") have meaning to me but I'm absolutely uncertain if my take was his intent. It doesn't matter. Some songs I don't listen to the lyrics at all. Some songs have basic but still cool lyrics ("Back in Black"). Other songs, I've got no idea what they meant, but if I can inject my own meaning, it's all good.
