Anyone using the M-Audio iControl for Garageband? If so, do you mind sharing your thoughts?

Thanks!

I have one, I liked it when I started having sessions with a lot of files/effects (podcasts and song demos). My feelings are mixed on control surfaces, I don't think they are always better for work flow but the iControl is a neat little device, never gave me issues.

Thanks for the input. For $99 it seems to be worth it. I won't be overly invested in it, so if I just use it to mute tracks or something, I am still getting my $ worth.

Thanks again!

I have been using with the kids at the college and it seems to shorten the learning curve for them. Seems well built and affordable, too.

Thanks for the info. Do you use GarageBand at a recording college?
We're just a small liberal arts college...

http://www.wofford.edu

But I am setting up an A/V lab to assist the students with podcasting, web design, video editing and musical audio production. I have Logic Express, but GarageBand is fine for the beginners.

So far the lab has...
  • 2-17" 2Ghz Imac's with 2 Gig's of RAM
  • M Audio 66 note USB Keyboard
  • Tascam FireOne Audio Interface/Control Surface
  • SE Relexion Filter
  • AKG 3000
  • M-Audio Monitors
  • Ilife
  • IWorks
  • Final Cut Express (all the Apple Stuff)
  • Cinematize
  • Adobe Creative Suites
  • MS Office 2004
  • JBL Creature Speakers
  • Sennhieser Circumaural and Open Headphones
  • M-audio Icontrol
  • 2 Blue SnowBall USB Mics
  • 30G Video Ipod and Belkin Mic....
