Madonna, WTF? I guess she decided she needed to channel her inner 16 year old disney princess.

Okay so she's going to be 54. I understand. She sees it slipping away. This is the last chance. It's called a mid-life crisis. Go for it.

I don't have a problem with it. Kind of amazed how great she looks actually.

    Agreed.
Like Julia said, the last gasp at trying to seem/feel young and hip. She should just accept her age, and do an album of standards already. Then, her and Rod Stewart can go on tour together.

It's shocking how she hasn't been able to make a decent single for at least a decade. Maybe if she stopped pretending to be British...she's made some great records but this makes Katy Perry look as talented as Bob Dylan by comparison.

Agreed. Not a fan of Madonna (or pop music in general), but that's just awful.

    Peace,

for those that are critical of it, what did you expect? it sounds like madonna and it's likely do well on the charts. she knows how to promote herself & her music.
she looks better than ever in the video too.

I had no expectations because I don't follow her much. I find some of her music more tolerable than this, to be sure. I'm sure it will probably do well, but so does a lot of music I don't think is especially good. And that may say more about me than the industry (so YMMV).

    Peace,

That would entail being able to sing. Rod Stewart is one of rock's best singers ever, and even he can't pull that stuff off.

Madonna was the breakthrough in the "not having to be able to sing, to have a gigantic career in music" paradigm that's developed in the past 20 years.

Only 20 years? That leaves out about eight substantial career years for Madge.

Yes, but she was almost alone, until Shania and Faith Hill came along.

Then it all went downhill, fast...

Madonna has always considered herself as a trendsetter, whether that actually pans out in reality or not. This song, along with it's rap collaborations with MIA and Nicki Minaj, is basically as formulaic as you can get with the current bubblegum pop environment. This could easily have been a Katy Perry song, except that it's sounds come straight from early 80's bubblegum. I would hope she would try harder, but I guess she just needs to make money to fund more films.

I like it. "It's right in front of you...now tell me what you thinkin' of...". Hell yeah. She's perfectly fake and contrived but you *know* the girl is Gettin' It On when the show is over. I can see and hear the craft and desire beneath the gloss and cheerleaders. Can't you ????

    She looks great...
But with Lady gaga out there doing madonna better than madonna ever could, katy perry, adele, etc...she has VERY stiff competition...
