1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

Wish I was able to get PRS onboard and sponsor me with a guitar for the video. I couldn't so had to use my dadiest guitar.

It’s okay. Denial is only the first stage. You’ll get there in time.

Very well done. Love that belt shot. Has anyone under the age of thirty ever attached their keys to a carabiner? Laughed so hard when he whipped out the Leatherman but it was pliers...

almost dead rock...post-dates grandpa rock by a few years. Not that there's anything wrong with ADR. I will still be playing and smokin at 68.

Good job, but I always thought the wall guitars you're selling plus the amps you were giving the thumbs down to are actually the epitome of dad rock gear, rather than anything pointy or utilizing modern technology[1].

    Great job.
Only suggestion is either a pointier guitar or older styled guitar.
And include the fact you are a ‘self taught’ jujitsu martial artist.

Loved it! You have good comedic timing.

My one niggling critique is.... I loved when the cameraman was filming the drummer and you tried to keep it all about you by moving in front of the shot. What put a bit of a downer on it for me was when you complained to the cameraman that you're the frontman. I think the subtlety of the former was excellent and didn't need the explicit bit afterwards, which was almost like explaining the joke. I mean, the complaining was funny and everything, but taken together it tarnished the whole. Hope that makes sense.

But aside from that, I loved it. Loved the sandals, the sunglasses indoors, the fact that the dude seemed like he was pretty cool 10 years ago but is now lame as anything. And I agree with everyone else, let's see more!

Another funny addition might be to constantly reference some marginal success you once had 10-15 years ago a la Uncle Rico. Something like, “my old band opened up for Chumbawamba once. Well, we didn’t end up technically opening for them because the gig was cancelled.” And then the rest of the video say things like “I’m the front man! I almost opened for Chumbawamba!”

    Yes, DRS needs PRS.

Or to come across as mildly woke something like, “There’s a lot of good music out there but you know...it is for someone else. Today’s music...I dunno...ain’t got the same soul?”

32 is young, but it's kind of the deal of the video. Early onset dad rock syndrome ;)

Thanks for all the positive feedback, guys! As for the tips on what to change in the video, well it's kind of difficult to do now since it's out :)

My feedback is not saying you need to change the video! It's more a comment on your excellent sense of comedy. I am not a producer of comedy but I do love it and am familiar with the scene. In that vein, I was giving my input as a fan for you to maybe consider for any future work you do. When you have such an extreme character with such a strongly mockable personality, it's the subtle touches (like the sandals, the paunch, or the tears during Free Bird) that really hit home. That's why the dude complaining about not being front and center was so anticlimactic for me as a "response" to the prior scene with the drummer, which made me laugh throughout.

FWIW, If I thought you hopelessly sucked I wouldn't have bothered to pipe in :D

Clever of you to try coming off as Swedish. Unfortunately there is still not a single person diagnosed with The Syndrome here; the scientists are puzzled as to why that is. One suggested explanation is we're using Ö instead of Ø.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the outdoors looked like Kongsvinger(?).

[EDIT] The vid was great fun, anyways! Good job!
