    In the moment,.. hopefully.
So was it a Strat or Les Paul. I am thinking into a Vibrolux. I was wondering if I woulcd be able to get close with a Strat into a Zendrive(on the way) to a Custom Vibrolux Reverb or maybe into my THD Univlalve set up right. Any ideas as to what he waxs using for the tone on the title track.:)

I was thinking Les Paul cause I saw him on You tube playing with a full orchestra and he had a gorgeous Standard playing the same tune.

The country I come from is called the Midwest.
I saw Mark Knopfler about seven years ago on the "Sailing to Philadelphia" tour. He played "Brothers in Arms" with one of his 'burst LPs, neck pickup. More than that, I can't help you, but that will get you 90% of the way there with a good amp, turned up.

I am pretty sure it was a Les Paul through a Jim Kelly head.

One of my favorite players, one of my favorite songs, and one of my favorite tones. Really incredible artistry, there.

I thought, perhaps remembering hearing, that it was a LP into a SLO.

I don't know either, but it is a timeless song for me...

I read an interview once that said Brothers In Arms was a Les Paul into a old original JTM45 head.

I remember reading about his stuff years ago, but the reference (not sure of the particular tune) was to a Tweed Vibrolux. Miles away from a blackface Vibrolux Reverb.

He actually used a brown Vibrolux. Still uses it some today. It is the tone on Sultans Of Swing, amoung others. But that isn't the tone from Brothers In Arms.

And BTW, playing with your fingers helps. I started doing that a couple years back now, and I dig the tone as much as anything else.
