Anoyone has experience with a Marshall 1959 series amp (Super Lead, Super Bass) and down-tuned guitars?

It's my dream amp but since my main band is a stoner/sludge band, I wondered if it could handle well low tunings. Oh and If you tried it with an OD or Fuzz, lemme know too :D !

    Thanks !

I ran an MXR Blue Box (octave down) through my Super Bass many times with no problems. It sounded awesome, especially when I ran the Blue Box into a Big Muff...

Thin Lizzy used to run those 1959s downtuned to B (6th string) all tones at noon except Presence at just 2..... normal for normal pitch tuning is/was all tones at max. (You need to get the amp's energy delivering at a lower frequency).

I had an opportunity to co-write some material recently. It's wasn't "Sludge" Metal but the songs required drop tuned dynamics. We opted for drop C#(uh-huh!) and utilized a 71 non master vol, JMP 2203. Cab was a later 70's 4x12 w/G12T-75's. For guitar, we chose an Ibanez RG with Dimarzio Slaughter House 5's(kidding, they were actually Tonezone's, ha)! The best thing though, with the amp running into overdrive, then clean boosted, was kicking in a Dunlop JH-F1 Fuzz Face, which really put the mohawk on the those chords.

Check out Weedeater and YOB's 'Atma'.

Weedeater's is a LP Custom into a '1959' Plexi reissue with a BMP NYC in front Tuned to D standard.

YOB uses Metropoulis plexi replicas tuned to A standard.

My superlead works great for low tuning it`s the speakers that have to beef up to handle it.

Sorry no, everything is locked down in demo process, but you're headed in the right direction.
