Marshall 800 2205 new power n preamp tubes!!!!!?

Hey!!!!!! guys any of you have used this power tubes on your Lead series 2205 Heads with an improvement on sound for a more classic marshall headroom? and what you think about using Tungsol's tubes on the preamp?that Eric Johnson sound using this amp!!!!! if you have done this already could you tell me what is your view about doing this?

you're not going to get EJ tone IMO. THat was my first marshall, it's clipping diode, so it's always going to have a more modern tone. The new Tungsol powertubes are nice, if you want more headroom, maybe bias to the new JJ KT77's.

EH's for the preamp would be MY choice.

the EH's would add more musical and classic sound than the Tungsol on the boost channel and clean channel?

Cool thanks for your help buddy..... Anybody else with experience with this amp with a different opinion r with more Ideas or tricks to get more sound from the 800 2205?

I can make a speaker suggestion that will help round off some of the high end "fizz" that some of these amps are known for-find a 1X12 or 2X12 closed back cabinet,and load it with Eminence Legend V12's.These speakers are their answer to the Vintage 30,but with a low mid(instead of high) emphasis,and an attenuated top end that will give that amp a more vintage tone.I've used one in my 4210 Marshall combo for some time now,and it made it into a much more useable amp.Check out online reviews at HC,and see if it sounds like what you're looking for.Good luck with your amp,mxr2000.
