Thinking of getting a Class 5 head. Any suggestions on a good cab? Should I go with the Marshall 1x10 cab?

I'd go 1x12 or 2x12. Greenback(s) or WGS Green Beret(s) are a great complement to it.

I run my combo thru an avatar 1x12 with a greenback in it. Sounds good to me.

Greenbacks are made for old school Marshall amps like the Class 5.

I'm looking for the same thing! Hoping I can find a good, inexpensive 1x12 cab with a Greenback in it. The tweaker cab looks like a winner. Anyone know how many ohms it is? Is it compatible with the Class 5?

The egnater tweaker cab with the g12h30 is 16 ohms, partial open back (a lot of people that sell them think its closed back, but the grill on the back does make the cab "open back")
+1 on the avatar cab with a greenback.

I had a Class 5 head, and it's a unique sounding amp in that the mids are scooped. As it happens, the 10" speaker they paired with it is mid hyped, so it balances things out. The Class 5 cab is probably the best match for this amp IMHO.

I finally found a Marshall 1965A cab this week via CL. It sounds great.

Any greenback-equipped cab will sound good, but as noted above, the Class 5's stock speaker (G10F-15) is a very good match for that amp and the price of the matching class 5 cabinet is very fair.

This , you can get the Eganter cab brand new for $249 shipped w/the G12H30 , the Marshall Class 5 cab with the 10" Celestion is the same price so I'd say the Egnater is a no brainer

This is my advice as well.
I did get some good tones out of a 1x12 with a WGS Green Beret, but nothing sounded as good as being paired with the 10" speaker that was made for it.
Marshall got it right on that one!
