Anyone have some suggestions/experience with this amp, and/or, know what would sound good with this type of amp? Supposedly based on a bluesbreaker....el84...5 watts....class A....10". Trying to make the amp sound less "meh" b/c it was my wife's 1st anniversary present to me so I can't ever sell it...might as well get it sounding better :). What ya got?

I like the stock speaker but I'm curious now what it would sound like with a greenback or the Gold for that matter. It does sound really good through a 4x12 greenback cab.

I'd love to run a 4x12 but it's just not feasible. I will try at my buddy's house, though!

IMHO - the stock speaker is the best match for the amp. The amp is pretty cooped in it's sound and the speaker is all mids. Together they balance out. I'm not a fan of the Class 5, but I do think the stock speaker is the best match.

Try breaking in the G10F15 first. If that doesn't help, a 10" greenback is s a good choice. I also liked the 60W Vintage G10 in the Class 5. The 10" Celestion gold sounds very nice, bit it won't fit the combo cab. The best for me was the Greenback in the combo cab and the gold in the Class 5 extension cab.

    Nice. Humorous.

Greenback is a logical choice. But maybe something with more oomph in the low end. But it's an uphill battle with el84s.

I never could get mine to sound good, unfortunately. I tried to like it, but just never bonded with it..

It was the beautiful cream color model, but I finally gave up on it and sold it..

My go-to with the Class 5 is the Tone Tubby 40/40 ceramic. It'll add a helluva lot of bottom end to thing and really "big" it up!
