I think the production is superb but those "vocals" just dont work for me at all.

I'm totally into the cover thing, but not that one. Anyone ever check out Iron Horse? They do Bluegrass covers of Metallica, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Ozzy etc. Very cool & worth checkin out!

sounds like David Lee Roth's new covers with the old VH tunes. Who would have ever though Metallica and VH would be bluegrass???

In case you're not familiar with them, CoB is essentially a death metal band. The guitarist/singer Alexi Laiho's voice doesn't really work for this kind of stuff and he isn't a great singer by any measure.

His voice fits much better for their own stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7zI-OIwz8Q

It is really amzing to me that this band has become so big with the singer---but the singer is also the guitarist---gotta be one of the best new talents period. I guess the music and catchy riffs take up for the singing---plus the band is alot more reliable this way. Whatever people think, these guys as smelling like roses right now. Check out their song "everytime I die"-----right up their with dream theater. This is the only new band I can think of right now that plays this style---very unique amongst new artist.:dude

Alexi is not Ozzy, nor is he jake. He just bastardized the whole thing. Shot in the dark is my favaorite ozzy tune. Jake is on my top 5 list of guys whos chops I wish I had and this guy just crapped in my fruit loops.

I'm flying to sweden or wherever the hell he's from to unleash the fooking fury.

Yeah, his vocals arent my bag either.
But he is getting plastered all over guitar magazines, and making a ton of money.

So, I for one wont say anything negative about him.
Him playing is top self for that metal style.

Scott, dood you allready sound like Jake meets CC, meets Brian May.

This is what makes the world go around, huh guys?

Maybe we shouldn't **** all over it, but I can't enjoy that. Awful to my ears, even if the original never existed.

CoB's cover of "Oops, I Did it Again" is hysterical. AND a huge improvement.

In My Humble Opinion, that's friggen horrible. I don't care how many records they've sold.
