So after listening to some clips of the Wilson Sparkling blue head to head with the original Marshall Guv'nor, I liked the Sparling blue better, but Wilson effects did do the head to head.

So I am trying to figure out which to go with. I am handy with a soldering iron, so building the GGG guv'nor kit is not big deal to me. I used to have a Taiwan made Marshall Guv'nor and miss that pedal.

I had an original Guv'nor too. Would be interested in seeing the results, wonder if the clones sound as good. I also had a Guv'nor 2 but it wasn't the same.

I'd suggest the bigger box for the GGG kit; the stock one is a PITA to wire up due to the cramped space for everything!

I have an original Guv'nor too and it's one of my favorites. I did not know about the Wilson but use a Wampler Plextortion, which i guess is an updated version of the guv. Awesome box

I am glad I added 'other' to the poll as there are always pedals I forget or don't know about.

Anyway comparing your Guv'nor and Plextortion, which do you prefer?

My guv's old and the foot switch was starting to fail so i needed a replacement. first i got a crunch box and it's great but to high gain to use be itself but the Plextortion, like the guv, has a wide range of gain and the 3 eq knobs so it's become my direct replacement... even though it's not exactly
