master volume model? it kills! the full range of clean to crunch is right there in the guitar's volume knob.

    +1

I'm running a Telecaster into my late 70's 2204, and it's all there. Clean to thick crunch right in the volume knob. Far more versatile than you might expect. I normally run the pre-amp volume at about 3 or 4 o clock with the tele, and it backs off to clean very nicely.

I'm using mine with an old Marshall cab with G12M's - which certainly helps on the crunch side of things. I've not given the amp much time with a strat, but i'd imagine it to behave much the same, i'd maybe take the pre-amp vol up another notch with a strat.

Single coil guitars sound great thru both MV and non-MV (4 holers) JMPs.

a 2204 is beyond good at the guitar volume with a tele.

plug into the low and crank the master and the cleans are spectacular.

I'm running a 57 Jr into a 77 2204 and it covers all the bases, and all of them well.

Yep - same here. I run Tele's and Strats into my 79 2204 all the time. Amazing tones for sure!

I play a '77 JMP 100 (mv model) and use my Nocaster almost exclusively...it's amazing!

I'm being redundant i guess, but single coils into my 2204 and 2203 are outstanding. Put a tubecsreamer in front (or ts type obviously) and thats all you need. After that its all in the fingers.
