If you don't need it to say "Marshall" on the front, either amp can be had from one of the many builders that frequent these forums for a hell of alot better price than Marshall sells them for.:D

    I have both a handwired Marshall 2061X and a Rockytop 45H

Build quality appears to be comparable to me. I'd check into one of his Plexi's if that's what I wanted, but his 45 clone is killer.

I hear Greg Germino's amps are kickass but I haven't had the pleasure.

As for Marshall HW Plexi, if it's the same quality, I'm sure it will be fantastic. I'd like to hear one myself.

I just bought the 1959HW last week. I couldn't believe my dealer had it and the HW cabs too. He told me he kept calling the Korg Distributor who finally promised to get him the amp and cabs. I'm sure musiciansfriends and all those other online dealers will be getting them soon too.

    how do you like it?

yeah, but wasn't it the jtm45 offset reissue that was like 5g's for the head and cab? The limited edition ones?

    I just want a plain JTM45 in the plain tolex....under 3 g's hopefully...like 25ish...then I can find one used cheaper...hehe

Well I was in guitar Center in Atlanta yesterday and along with a HW 20 head they had ordered for Rastaman Korg shipped em a HW 1959 without them asking for it.

They werent gonna ship it back. :D

I didnt get a chance to hear it if I did though I'd have to take some Beano. :D

The HW sounds great. A little less aggressive in the highs and upper mids compared to my 70 metal panel-but still rocks. Sweetens up nicely with the volume knob like all non master volume amps. As with all Marshalls, just put all the dials on 10 and play loud. Definitely not the most practical amp in the world, but I could not resist it especially with the laydown tranny, I didn't pick up any of the matching cabs, but those look really nice.

If I remember correctly these amps start breaking up around 1 & a 1/2 then from there to wide open turn into melted snow.

You have to remember I'm and old fart. :D

But there are a few diferences in all of em.

If you dig hard at around 2, you can get the amp to break up.
