First teaser trailer has arrived. Obviously this is an origin story.

Looks good - can't wait to see the non-teaser trailer. It was a little too 'Sherlock' with him walking out at the end, coattails blowing behind him. :) (Wonder if Cumberbatch wore overcoats as a kid?)

Huge cast! I had to think about this one and not confused him with Hugo. Yes, I know nerd, dc/marvel ;)

I don't know anything about the back story on this, but it looks pretty cool.
I'd see just about anything with Tilda Swinton in it....she is the balls.

I never liked Dr. Strange - the faux mystical magician as (not quite) superhero working in higher planes of existence was alway an odd fit with the Marvel universe.

But that trailer looked promising, and the cast is outstanding. I too could go see that movie just for Swinton

I wonder if the use of orogin stories is because that is the only truly good story some of these superhero characters have in them? A story to the tune of "hero A defeats villain B" may have less appeal than a story about the search for identity, self knowledge and a place in the world

Ran across him in Ghost Rider comics occasionally. I'm in...which reminds me, can we get a Ghost Rider movie that's not horrible?

say WHAAAT?? those Nic Cage "Ghost Rider" movies are epic! You can't get any more Nic Cage-ish than that. You can tell he was just doing it for the money and hammed it up to the extreme, which is exactly what we want from a Nic Cage movie.

It's certainly isn't what we want from a Ghost Rider movie - Can we have some measured realism please
    ;)

Not sure on Tilda as the Ancient One, but otherwise looks cool.

I was never a big Strange fan in the comics, but the animated movie they did with him a several years back was pretty good. If they follow something like that, it could be cool. It's a good story of having a super ego crushed and rebuilt and finding new meaning in life.

    Yep.
    Looks cool.
As long as Dormamu shows up at some point,
    it should be pretty entertaining.

Looks better than most of the other marvel stuff that's been flooding the theaters.

The series did give Ditko an opportunity to stretch out creatively.

Was Dr. Strange faux mystical? I thought he was the Sorceror Supreme of Earth -- meaning genuinely mystical.

I thought so, too, and totally unlike any other character in comics at that time...
