It could take 6 months or more depending on what your custom order is and if you are going for a master built guitar or team built.
I've got a buddy that had one done a couple of years ago, he ordered in February, build started July, delivery in December...all of the same year.
I orderd one last year, early Feb '07 and got it in September '07. +/- 7 month wait. (builder DG) heavy specs I ordered another one in mid Oct '05 and just got it in Dec '07. +/- 26 month wait. (builder MK) moderate specs I ordered another one in March '07 and literally got a call today that is in Jan '08. +/- 9 month wait. (builder- GF) std catalog offering Not much help?, no because it depends on the Masterbuilder, specs, etc.
Heard it depends on the Masterbuilder One dealer recently told me a Masterbuit came in 4 months a Team Built took 10
