Hi All

I recently tried a Matchless DC-30 and fell in love with the tone. I ended up trading a couple of guitars and a pile of pedals that were collecting dust for it.
OUCH!! These things are expensive, and I never see them used in Canada. I hope this cures the amp gas for a while.

I was wondering which drive pedals pople are using with these. I use an R8 with Sheptone tributes, R6, strat, tele.

Any suggestions?

thanks

A good treble booster. I loved the Dynamic Ranger...

A Hotcake is great, too.

Any old style germanium treble booster works very well with this amp design. A divided by 13 Dynaranger is relatively inexpensive and lets you dial in just the right amount of treble depending on your style of music. Classic treble boosters work much better than any other type of overdrive or distortion units.

The Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive works really well with my C-30 as does the Blackstone Mosfet Overdrive.

I love the BB Preamp and Barber Direct Drive with my Chieftain and my friend's HC 30 (same amp in head form as the DC)

That was mic'd on the greenback speaker, the combination of it and the G12H-30 is magic. I loved gigging it, but man it was heavy.
I picked up that same speaker combo from remocity and yes, you're right. But the tone factor equals the lug factor.

The DC-30 loves 'em all, in my experience! Hard to make that amp sound bad.

There you go^^

I have tried many OD pedals though mine and they all sound great. The H&K Tube Factor works best for my tastes but nothing ever sounded anything less than great.

I use a T1M built snapper with my morgan dual 40

Sounds absolutely killer!

It has the ef86 and top boost style channel like the DC as well

Thanks folks

I appreciate all of the great suggestions. I have been using the BB preamp, wampler brent mason hot wired, rothwell hellbender, okko diablo so far. Another one I pulled out was my stephenson FMD pedal. This works in a similar fashion as the treble booster thing that many have suggested and sounds awesome. I never got a chance to try an ocd, rat as those were part of the trade to get the amp. I would like to try it with some of the landgraff and tim/timmy pedals as some have suggested.
