More I listen to the demos the more I want one, played one twice. My twin is too much in weight and dont really need the power. I love the classic tones so I prb drop a Cream back and some better tubes in. kind of sick of trying diff pedals. I do I like my tones but love the Marshall tones. I cant afford to to drop cash but can do a trade in.

I'm not sure if they're still doing it, but Sweetwater had a special deal on the the DSL 40c with a Creamback. It might be worth checking in to.

I downsized a JCM2000 half stack to a DSL40c a while ago. They're good amps, but not nearly as crunchy as the originals IMO. I love the green crunch channel.

The DSL40C is a Rock'n amp, definitely worth checking out.

Love mine (after a speaker swap). The half stack stays home all the time, and the DSL40 turned out to be awesome at low volumes too!

You gotta pull the back off to replace the preamps or try to reach in there:(

You have to pull the chassis out to bias the power tubes as well but its not that much of a pain when tube rolling.

Thanks! any favorites on pre amp tubes? wonder if a Tungsols to bright for the v1 this amp sounds smaller compared to the twin at low volumes but when cranked I think it will even out were the twin was pretty thick almost too much with dirt with the 6l6's. Marshall grind comes out more and clarity when cranking it

I've been using all JJ tubes 4xECC83S and a pair of JJ E34L power tubes, they sound good with this amp!

Does this amp have a cathode follower? If so, be careful with Russian tubes in that position.
I use JJs in a DSL401. Different amp. It can be kinda bright and they have a fatter sound.
