I prefer medium jumbo fretwire on my guitars. Dunlop 6130's measure at .104w x .036t. What would be the equivalent Jescar wire? TIA
Actually, that is classic 'jumbo' fretwire... based on the .104 - .106 width, rather than the height!wow, .036" and even .039" high is pretty much not "jumbo" at all in my book, that's just low vintage wire.
.047" high would be a legit "medium jumbo" as far as i can tell (i think that's historic paul spec), while actual jumbo would be in the zone of .055".
I've said it before, I've had customers who brought in a modern guitar that already has a large stock fret- .050 to .055" high and will tell me "I need this refretted with jumbo frets."Actually, that is classic 'jumbo' fretwire... based on the .104 - .106 width, rather than the height!
It's only recently (like the last 25 years ) that the giant railroad-track clown stuff like 6100 has absconded with the 'jumbo' appellation.
