Memory Boy Vibrato and Chorus Question

Hey guys!!

Just picked up a Memory Boy...so far seem quite cool and at first glance gets the basic Memory Man tone. I'm having an issue with the vibrato/chorus, though. If i turn the depth up any more than like 1% the effect gets REALLY serious. It is very hard to dial in just a touch of vib or chorus...its sort of all or nothing...is this normal? It would seem like the first 5-20% of the knob would yield slighly detuned delays...even at 9 o'oclock I'm getting pretty heavily effected delays.

Also, does anyone know if this is a fully analog pedal, or is it a digital copy of the original? Just curious...

Thanks!

Mike

It is analog.

Modulation gets too thick too fast for me as well. I just barely crack it. My only real qualm with this effect.

I don't recall the DMM being this way...there were all sorts of nice subtleties in that pedal...maybe I'm remembering wrong, or maybe thats just a deficiency of the Memory Boy.

It's not a memory man. Can cop some basic memory man type tones, but it's really got it's own thing going on. Works for me as it is cheap, sounds good (not as good as a DMM unfortunately) and doesn't take up much space.

I have heard that there are trimpots inside the Memory Boy that you can adjust the modulation strength. I have not done this myself.

I opened mine up...there are like 6 trim pots in there...anyone know what any of them do?

To the OP: Are you running it off the power supply that comes with it? I found the mod to be a little more subtle when I did that, as opposed to the PP2+.

Yeah, I was using the wall wart that came with it...

Anyone ever figure out those trim pots? This thing sure would be nice with a little more play on the blend knob?
