So, here's the thing. I have a G-Major delay in the rack but thinking of something for my 'easy on the back' pedal board rig. I prefer longish delays, nothing below say 350ms and i quite like the sound of the ol' memory man modulated delays...but i've lived a long and happy existance thus far without, so it's not crucial. I'm just after a good quality reliable delay unit to throw in the gig bag that will work it's arse off with either my AC30 or OD-100...
I know the old delay thread has been beaten to death...but i could really do with some guidance/opinions. :horse
    Cheers:AOK

I love the Memory Lane. I've owned the TREX (great delay . . .but more pristine and no modulation)

The ML is a little noisy at longer delay times but I can live with it because of the stunning modulation ability.

I also have a Diamond Memory Lane which I am loving it's very versatile & the Modulation tone is excellent.

I use to own a Maxon AD-900 which was good but the Memory Lane is more versatile & has a longer delay time.

I have absolutely no ML owning regrets. :) The pedal is superb. The only thing to consider is whether you want any of the custom mods they do for it. I might have opted for some, had I known what was offered.

my only regret with the dml is the .5 second delay time.............more delay time would be...

    well, better

but the tone and the amount of control (with an expression pedal) is outstanding

So...if we were all given say 400 - 600 bucks and a choice of pedals would i be right in assuming we'd all go for the ML over the others? Or would we chip in a few bucks more and go the Echozar...and 9 month wait or whatever its upto these days!! haha

Why not just get a memory man? Then take the extra $300 and buy some other toys?

I haven't tried any of the other ones you mention there but I'm happy with my ML. I Love Memory Man's and this is in the same ballpark, but with some improvements and a definate character of its own.

I wonder why he doesn't offer a mod for exp pedal control of feedback. That way you could slip into and out of self oscillation.

well it has an expression input jack already for the feedback level.

but what's curious for me now is if the level is meant to be the volume of the feedback or repeats of the feedback. because the only knobs for controlling the delay are:
delay: i think that's delay time
eq: that's the eq on the delayed signal?
    level: volume or repeat?
mix: is this one the volume of the feedback??

I have been planning a custom ML for awhile. I really like the look of the comp, so I may request a yellow/blue ML despite orange being my favorite color.
