    Looks great...

The King of the Britains is one of my all time favourite pedals, let alone overdrive, or Marshall in a box.
Happy to have a couple of them.

    The New "THE KING"

pedal.. from the description it sounds like Brian attacked the marshall concept from a different angle, full tone tweeking, small size, great price...

    Anyone buying one?

Is the the end of the KOTB?

Brian's stuff is always tempting. :D

I asked on Instagram if this meant the end of the KOTB but got no reply.

I wonder how the drive and gain knobs differ?

Check out his direct-sales price for this pedal. It is muy bueno.

Purports to be an "entirely new design." I'm curious to hear clips/vids.

7 knob KOTB ended my search for that sound.
The King looks a bit smaller & might be nice for my second board since i'm not completely happy with that setup.

I was really curious about this one... I've had a 7 Knob and 4 knob (small box PTP) KOTB and really enjoyed them. I wonder what the differences are between the King and KOTB?

I wouldn't hold your breath. And, from personal experience, you had better hope it doesn't break.

If I remember correctly, on the older kotb pedals one was preamp gain and the other simulated power tube distortion.

What do you mean? I had a pedal fixed by Brian and shipped to and from Australia.. it was mostly easy and pleasant... Would not hesitate to reach out again.

sometimes i'm not the happiest artist selling his wares..

I just ordered one...I've had a bunch of the KOTB/WMB versions over the years...this new one seems like it has elements of all of them in one small box...I'll report back when it arrives...

As for guys being scared to deal with Menatone regarding orders/repairs/ect...Brian has be very quick returning emails and seems to really be on top of it...I know that wasn't always the case(personal experience) but I wouldn't hesitate doing business under the current system now or in the future...

Really looking forward to The King...

Looking forward to your feedback! It'll be interesting to hear where it sits in the warmer WMB <---> brighter KOTB sonic range.

    Ordered.

Brian has been a pleasure to deal with in my experience.

His Menawatt is the best drive that I own.

The 5-knob KotB keeps finding it's way back on to my pedal tray. It just loves my Super Reverb

I just received my The King...freakin awesome...I've had a few different versions of the KOTB/WMB and this is all the good things of those pedals rolled into one small enclosure...tons of interaction between all the controls...very wide gain/tonal range...stacks well with other pedals...I just got a new small box Fish Factory as well...those 2 together are an insane combo...I feel like I could do any gig into any amp with those...

There's also an internal Vintage/Modern switch...Vintage is a little looser/bassier(JTM45/Bassman style)...Modern is a little tighter and focused(Plexi/JCM style)...both seem to have about the same amount of gain...clean up to semi high gain...

Brian was great to deal with and since I ordered The King right before my Fish was supposed to ship he hooked me up with The King at the same time(no wait)...his communication/follow through was lightning fast...super stoked on the whole experience...

I have a 7 knob KOTB, it is the best Marshall sounding pedal I've heard. He makes great pedals, kind of like Barber, but neither beat their chest about it, very classy.
