Hi, I am the original owner a Mark iic. I was thinking about sending it back to Mesa for an upgrade to c+ status, does anyone know what they actually change, how much it cost and is it worth doing, have the amp up for sale but might put the money in to change it and keep it.

Don’t know about the + mod, but I took my Mark lll
Over to Mesa a few years ago ago for some routine maintenance and an R2 volume. Mike B went through and replaced what needed it, the result was amazing. I hadn’t realized what had changed over time. I heartily recommend it.

I'm not sure but I would call and find out.

If you've had it this long and it hasn't gone to a Mesa Tech before for some overhaul it might need to have some work done to it before they will even "+" it and so there will be added expense.

It's a dramatic improvement in terms of the quantity and quality of gain. I don't see why they wouldn't still do it, and it's generally in the vicinity of $500. There's a premium associated with factory original IIC+, but you should still be able to make more getting the mod done and selling as a IIC+ than as a IIC. That is presume you have one of the more desirable models (i.e. graphic, simulclass).

It'll require a factory service before the mod, which will take you to somewhere in the neighbourhood of $650 total, IIRC.

It is not a simulclass chassis but does have the graphic eq. Still worth it?

I just had it done. Talk to Mike B. Don’t forget shipping and likely other charges for other maintenance (filter caps, etc.)

    Look on the Boogie forum.
    It’s there in detail.
You really should call Boogie and talk to Mike B.
You might have to leave a message but he’ll get back to you and you’ll know if it’s worth it to you.

    I’d do it.

Even if you could sell it, and acquire a IIc+ for less $$, that's a lot of hassle to save a couple hundred dollars, and, the new II+ won't have the benefit of factory service. With the factory service and upgrade, you are almost getting a new amp, which to me makes it worth more than an unknown quantity original IIc+.

Totally agree. This is why I had Mike B do the work on mine.
