Mesa Mark IV with 16ohm speaker

I have a Mesa Recto 1x12 cabinet with V30 16ohm speaker. If I plug it into the 8ohm out, I know it is a mis-match, but it should be OK, right? What is the tonal difference and should I just get an 8ohm speaker instead?

You'll be fine. It will probably be very slightly quieter and a little tonally darker. You won't hurt anything though, not on a Mesa.

its correct for the mark iv running 6v6s, which mine is, not sure if your looking for great tone though, which the 6v6s get you.
