Mesa Royal Atlantic as profiled by Kemper.

The person that brought the Kemper over will remain nameless so he does not take any flack if this isn't sounding as good as I think it does.

He provided the Kemper, I provided the RA100 and the crappy playing...

I liked the high end slice, he didn't...lol... I was playing though, so I won out on that front... To me, it sounds like it did in the room. We did get room sound in as well. I haven't a clue how it worked but it did... Don't ask me, because I truly don't know.

    Anyway, here it is.

You live in the US right? Didn't know there were Kemper's here already. Cool.

Thanks man. Listening to the soundcloud clip, it sounds shriller than it really does.

Cool riff. Do you feel that the profile itself could have been eq'd enough in the KPA to let the tones sit better in the mix? (assuming your friend wanted less high end "slice"). Is this something you think the KPA imparted, or was this pretty close to the actual amp tone?
Pretty great heavy rhythm tones btw!

Great tone and nice playing. It doesn't sound "shrill" to me, just great cut. Nice Mesa tone.

I really liked the Mesa in this clip. More than I thought I would like it. Nice work!

It sounds like Steve Lukather! Great stuff!! Any thought of sharing the profiles? I think the Royal Atlantic is one of the 2 Mesa amplifiers still missing (the other being the Mark I)

Sounds good to me but I really like the Mesa RA. Currently trying to justify buying one. That or the Kemper with some RA profiles.

    Thanks much Guys!
Gasp, I think the Kemper gave the sound of the amp to be totally honest. It was my choice to use that much presence. I am quite sure that the eq, could have easily toned that down more than enough...

I really appreciate the kind words for that crappy playing all!

Good job, sounds like you have proximity effect going on on the lead parts, needs to be more in your face. - my 2c
Just keep going, your in the right ball park!

    very cool sound.

question: what's that ambiance going on in the background? Is that a clean guitar or a synth or what? I feel it really helps that mix, but it's subtle enough so that I can't tell what it is. A dark clean guitar with chorus? also, sounds like it's swelling in/out.

anyhoo, I really dug the track, regardless if a couple notes were slightly off-time (I wouldn't have really noticed if you hadn't said anything). TBH, it reminds me of Vai, kind of that brooding lead with the punchy rhythms right before he goes into face-melt mode. But of course, Vai isn't that heavy sounding.
