I am looking into these two amps? I play in a cover band doing a very wide range of music. I play smaller and medium sized clubs and the amp is usually miced and I'm the only guitarist. I would prefer 50 watts but I believe the tremoverb is only 100. Which one of these amps are more versatile? Do they take pedals well?

I'm curious as well if there's a difference in tone between the two, or are they the same amp with reverb vs. tremelo?

I played in a band with a guy that had an older tremoverb halfstack, and It sounded nicer than any rectoverb I've ever played.

I'm not sure what the actual nuts and bolts are when it comes to why theyre different, but theres a very big difference.

Agreed, the Tremoverb just sounds better in all categories. Better cleans, good mid to high gain, mellow to metal. The Rectoverb just isn't as versatile, it's just a combo version of recto

Every Tverb I've heard sounds way better than the Rectoverb.

If you really want 50 watts, just pull a pair of tubes from the Tverb.

one has tube rect, the other is silicon diode.

    They should sound different.

Eizenger used Tremoverbs for a while...

I've seen rectoverbs on the stages where Foo Fighters played.

Both come as heads or combos.

I have said this 100s of times, I miss my Tremoverb!!!, Until the Roadking and Roadster this was the most versatile of the Rectos(IMHO), always sounded great, always easy to find a great tone!! Clean to Mean its there!!

Tverb is better sounding but 3 channel recto is more versatile because of the switching.

+1 for the Tremoverb. The Rectoverb, IMO, is a watered down version of the Rectifier series. The Tremoverb was (before the Road King) the flagship. EXCELLENT amp. No comparison.
