Ocassionally I like to break out some ' metaltones' on my board..not looking for muddy lo fi tones though..
Which Pedal do you think is the best ?

Digitech Hardwire Metal (seems more tweakable)

EH Pocket Micro Metal Muff ( l like that it doesnt take up realestate)

    MXR Fullbore metal
    ?

Mighty Red is a compressed gainer designed to give you those 80's Rock sounds. Given the OP's current considerations, take a look at the Tone Freak Severe, Suhr Riot, MI Audio Tube Zone, and Barber Dirty Bomb.

+1 to all these suggestions, and add the Menatone None More Black pedal.

I mainly use a Egnater Rebel 30 mostly and occasionaly a Bogner Shiva ,Fender Vibrolux.
Current dirt pedals on board are
Mxr classic Distortion,Voodoolab Sparkledrive,MJM london Fuzz.
Kind of looking for something slightly more aggressive , "progmetal"tones

    Landgraff Distortion Box.

It will melt your face, and has great note clarity. The only high gain pedal I have played that will do that.

toneczar openhaus - really pricey and long waiting time. really versatile pedal that does all sort of hi gain stuff. if i am to own only one hi-gain pedal, this is it.

wampler triple wreck - awesome metal rhythm tone. loads of thunk and perfect for djenty stuff. not really cheap and comes in a huge enclosure.

barber dirty bomb - the most 'bang-for-the-buck' hi-gain pedal. can't go wrong with this.

rocktron metal planet - my favorite mass-market metal pedal. can be had for peanuts and does an adequate job as a back up.

blackout effectors musket - based on the green russian muff and it can go from creamy fuzz to all out chugs at a turn of the focus knob. go figure.

for a start, the dirty bomb should be ideal for its versatility and excellent price point unless you have a specific sound that you are going for. fwiw, i am using the triple wreck for rhythm and the musket for my leads.

Sorry, when he said "occasionally get metal tones" I didn't think he wanted to go balls out metal.
    My mistake.

These are on my hit list...

    Suhr Riot
    Tone Freak Severe
    Menatone None More Black
    Rothwell Switchblade
    Wampler Triple Wreck
    Subdecay BlackStar
    Okko Dominator

Haven't heard a good demo yet for either the new Menatone pedal or the Okko. Like the leads I've heard with the Severe. These are high-gainers; use available clips to get some idea of voicing as that will more likely determine which is the best fit for you. Suhr Riot will be hard to get for awhile.

I've got a Diezel modded Boss MT-2 that I like so much, that I ended up getting rid of my Zvex Box of Metal. Not bad for a petal you can get used for $40, and mod for a few more cents.

I'm also pretty interested in one day checking out the Toneczar Openhaus and a MI Audio Tubezone. Also, the Dragonfly BM-1 seems like it can bring the brootalz like no other. Then again, it's based off of the black metal sound, so it's going to sound pretty lo-fi... still want one in case I ever find myself in the mood to summon some demons.

Try to locate one of those discontinued FANG pedals from RT made in CA.
Cheap, and spot on aggressive metal as you posted.
    Good luck-

This is crazy but I have a Fang and kinda dropped it off my board. To me, there was one very usable metal tone to be extracted from this pedal; I've been looking for something a bit more versatile. Very much a one-trick pony but it was a good trick. I just went to www.righteoustones.com and he (Jeff) is at least temporarily out of the business. It's sad because he seemed very fair. I hope Jeff is OK.

Agreed! That's what I thought the OP was going for though...
BTW: I like your list. I have a Subdecay Blackstar as well!
