Catch their sets on the Depends Main Stage.

Old folks just can't leave anything to the young, can they?

I still prefer the first lineup.

The equivalent headliner to today's debacle back then would have been Jefferson Airplane.

Paul is timeless. He will fit in forever.

Not Metallica. I'm dying to see Florence, though.

    Macca predates JA.

Most of whom the OP would expect to find on the Depends main stage.

Indeed. JA was just the first band I could think of that would have been an utterly irrelevant, geriatric headliner in 1991 whose heyday was 24 years prior. So, the analogy was more applicable to Metallica than Macca. The equivalent to him would have been friggin' Artie Shaw or the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra.

Pretty good lineup all around, imho, lots of bands I'd like to see. Yes, for me that includes both Metallica and Paul McCartney, although a lot of the 'smaller' bands will be cool, too (Gary Clark Jr, Alabama Shakes, etc)

The Jimmies and Mista Cookie Jar and the Chocolate Chips!

That should be a Sweet show.

I just hope they don't do a mash up with DJ Mustard.

I don't know if I could stomach that.

Also.... it's good to see Night Terrors of 1927 and Death from Above 1979.

    That'll be a timeless performance.

Although... seeing Coin and Bank play will surely be money.

I haven't taken the time to look into this on the internet, but does Perry Farrell have anything to do with Lollapalooza anymore? Based on the lineup, I imagine that he doesn't.

His initial idea behind Lollapalooza just seems completely different from what the festival is today.

Paul McCartney? geezus.... who's headlining next year.... Phil Collins?

it is clear Farrell has nothing to do with this festival anymore.

Perry Farrell just did a song on the new McCartney tribute album, the Art of McCartney.

Paul is good but his voice is finally giving out sorry to say.

It won't hurt some of the kids to hear the guy Kanye discovered though.

Who was on the original line up?
