Metroamp/ValveStorm 50 or 100 watt build??

I'm entertaining the thought of building a Metroamp. I may build it myself or I may ask a local amp builder to build it for me.

Either way I'll be using a Torpedo Two Notes Load box. I've never really used a high powered amp so using someting like the Torpedo makes it posible.

I'm not sure of the tonal differences of the 50 vs 100 watts but my basic question is if volume/clean headroom is not an issue (using the torpedo) does a 50 or 100 watt build really matter?

What questions do I need to ask myself before settling on the right kit?

My second question is other than transformers and the box, does ValveStorm carry everything needed in their kits?

50 watt is fine
Ask yourself what kind of Marshall tone you want
Lead or bass spec.
100 if you really want head room and then go bass spec.
Valcestorm kit is very complete
Classic tone trannies are good , marstran better.
Stagecraft should have head boxes

It's a fun project. Spend the dough on nos preamp tube for v1 once broken in.

Thanks Mike!

Clean head room doesn't really matter if using a Torpedo does it?

Right now I use a Fargen Mini Plex II and just want more of it. Bigger, a little more grind, more balls! If I could get something between the plexi and jcm, that would be the ticket!

I assume the SL would fit the bill pretty nice. I'm just not sure of the tonal difference between 50 and 100 watt.

Since you're got yo dummy load anyway, do the 100. You can always pull two tubes
