    Hi folks,

I'm quite new to the forum, but I sure like what I'm seeing....
My question is - I've recently picked up a Fender Mexican Jazz Bass. Nice action, nice finish, etc,...Sound..??? I find the sound a little weak for recording purposes. So my son, the shredder, says to 'change the pickups'. I'm wondering what you folks would recommend for replacement pickups for this model?... I'm looking for that 70's SVT or Allman's 'Whipping Post' kind of tone. Is this do-able, or do I have to move on to another model?

    Thanks...

    Neil (boomchank)
