MICHEL CUSSON - throwing out some love

    This dude is never talked about and should be much larger in the guitar community if you ask me. His stuff with Uzeb is nothing short of monstrous. If you aren't familiar you should change that. Crazy good player.

    Nice man, fine player
    His large funk band - The Wild Unit - was pretty great.
    They open at one of the G3 gigs in Montreal years back. Just great and Michel kind kicked Vai & Satch's butt in the closing jam.
    Wasn't crazy about the technology-heavy UZEB, though did see them several times; preferred them as a trio.
    Michel has done quite a bit of soundtrack and similar work in recent years, some quite nice.

    Although somewhat dated now I loved "Noisy Nights" and "Club" albums. Some stellar compositions and playing on those albums. Insane that they pulled all that off as a trio with the technology (each players used synths).

    He isn't talked about so much in part because he has been doing mostly soundtrack work for 2 decades now...

    Another good Quebecois player is Jerry Devilliers (and Pierre Cote too)...all played with Caron at various points :)
