    Hi everyone,

I'm very new to this issue, never had something like this before. I just got a 2008 Fender Deluxe Strat SSS with stock SCN pickups and I realized that sometimes, I hear a little ringing tone when I pick the higher 3 strings.

Is this what people refer to as a microphonic pickup?

I use a tube amp but I doubt it's the tubes, they are sort of new. JJ EL84s and Tungsol 12AX7s in a Budda Superdrive 18 II.

    Thanks a lot.

Might be a nut issue. I have a tele with the same symptoms but I can hear the same tones when unpluged. Very noticable on the open G string.

microphonic is the pup acting like a microphone, if you tap the pup you can hear it, if you speak to it, you can hear your voice come through the amp, ect and so forth, all pups have some microphic characteristic, wax on the pup coils and the covers can help a lot.
