What is your opinion about Midtown Music?
Thanks in advance.
It's a unique shop that's for sure.
If it's the one in Atlanta, it's a great little treasure chest. You never know what little nugget you are going to find there. And the guys are nice to deal with from my experience.
Yea, that's the shop. What do you want to know about them specifically?
I enjoy going in there and Dave seems like a decent guy. And they are the only Ric dealer around. Always some interesting stuff in there.
Ive been dealing with them for years, they are stand up guys.
We almost don't have Custom Guitars around here, not even in Rotterdam..sometimes one or two.
I am looking for a small and reliable personal store to buy quality guitars for a Blues Club in Rotterdam.
It looks like a nice store, to be sure I was looking for some opinions about them.
I have always had a good shopping experience ther and gotten a fair deal.
Dave gave me a great price and great shipping when I bought a new Aiken Tomcat from him a few years ago. He has the goods in he store too. I'd buy from him again.
Well, I can tell you that I emailed them several days ago for pictures of a guitar they have in stock. I followed-up the email with a conversation with them reiterating my interest in the guitar.
They never sent me the pics and they never followed-up with me.
I bought a Bassman LTD from them as an Ebay purchase. Excellent pack job and communication, seemed like nice guys.
They've been around quite a while. I've live in Atlanta for 12 years now and they've always been there. So you know they aren't some fly-by-night eBay operation or something. They are a true brick and mortar store with long standing employees operating the place. They are one of the very few stores around here a really, REALLY like. They are a throwback to the good ol' days.
Good folks and some great gear. You could do much, much worse.
Well, my humble advice would be to pick up the phone and call Dave.....it could be that he is just really busy and gets a lot of email or something. My experience with him was great. I was on the fence about the Tomcat and a low watt Savage.....He actually had an employee call me back to disucss and demo some amps over the phone...not the best fidelity (phone receiver) but nevertheless, I thought it was great customer service. They sent along some pictures after the fact. A phone call is the next best thing to face to face communication.
I purchased a new Two Rock CRS from them in '05. They took very good care of me. Highly recommended!
Thank you guy's, sounds like a good store indeed!
Did you read my post? That's exactly what I did.
David is one of the most courteous people I have dealt with in the music gear business bar none. They do lots of overseas business too.
I bought a custom shop Gibson from them a couple of years ago and had no problems. They emailed pictures, I called the shop and bought the guitar, and they shipped it. It was kind of a simple transaction with no complications, but I had no problems. It was set up pretty well too.
